The
safety and security of our students is of prime importance. Hence, we try and
reinforce this is different ways that interests our students. We planned a
workshop on First Aid, Healthy Living and Anti-Tobacco on 19 September 2017 for
Grade 2 to 8 students. Our school Doctor and Nurse Dr. Jolly Thomas and Tintumol
VS wanted to spread awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle at Credence.
First Aid – The nurse’s talk included First Aid
tips that is initial
intervention in a serious condition prior to professional medical help being
available. First aid generally consists of some simple, often
life-saving techniques that most people can be trained to perform with minimal
equipment, our students were briefed about it.
Healthy Living - A healthy life style is one, which helps to keep and
improve people’s health and well-being. The doctor spoke about eating good healthy food, participating in regular exercise and having enough
sleep.
Anti-Tobacco – Hazards of Tobacco were explained and also
the illness that come with it. The mantra was that all should say no to tobacco.
The workshop came to an end with a video shown
to students on ‘Healthy Food Habits’. Children at the end of the session knew
the dos and don’ts for a healthy lifestyle.
