The Central Board of Secondary Education is popularly known as CBSE. As one of India's most prestigious educational boards, it offers a well-researched syllabus incorporating international practice and is recognized worldwide.
All Indian curriculum schools follow the NCERT syllabus. Choosing a CBSE curriculum school has the added benefit of gaining greater knowledge for several competitive exams, no matter what the instruction medium of the school is, it is better to get your child ready for today's fast-paced world, and CBSE schools help them attain their goals.
As the board exams are on the edge and yes, it is natural to have exam anxiety. Well, preparation is the key to success and below are a few guidelines to help the students.
Guidelines For Students of Grades 10 and 12
1. Create a standard plan of action.
- Make charts of all the important topics that have been repeatedly asked in previous years' board exams.
- For each subject, enumerate the topics in the order of importance. Allot a particular time span for each topic’s revision based on importance.
2. Realize the importance of NCERT textbooks.
- Read and study each chapter in your textbook very thoroughly.
- Practice all the numericals/ questions after each chapter in your textbook.
- Keep small cheat notes for the final revision before the exam. Avoid reading full chapters just before the exam.
3. Solve previous year question papers of the last ten years for sure.
4. During the exam, attempt the questions in the right order. You may leave space and come back to attempt the questions.
5. Ensure you write the section and question number clearly before writing the answer.
6. Underline keywords/phrases in the answer but make sure not to overdo them, as it may reduce the clarity of your answer. You should stick to the weightage of the questions. For eg. 3 phrases or words underlined for a 3 marks question
7. Draw a line after each answer.
8. Answer only one question in ‘OR’ questions
9. Maintain clarity and neatness-Whenever you need to cut a word or an answer, draw a line with your pen over that text/word. Avoid scribbling or scratching, as it will make your answer sheet look messy and unclean.
10. While writing theory answers, leave space/draw a line between two answers.
11. Write precise answers to the questions. Writing irrelevant answers will not help you gain scores. It also increases the chances of making more mistakes in your answers and wasting your time.
12. Try to maintain the word limit, which means practising how many points should be written for 2 marks, 3 marks, 4 marks, and 5 marks.
13. Attempt all questions-Since there is no negative marking, try attempting all the questions.
14. Revise your answers - Before handing over your answer sheet to the examiner, make sure to cross-check it once more. Verify every question in your sheet. Check if you left any questions unanswered.
Besides these guidelines, two other important things to follow during the preparation is
- Practise meditation/exercise
- Eat a healthy diet and sleep well.
When you believe in yourself, anything is possible. Wishing you all the best of luck with your exams!!
