“Knowing the culture of the United Arab Emirates”
Intent: Emirati club offers a variety of
activities to the students from grade 1 to 5. In line with the co-curricular
activities, this club provides an opportunity to the students to learn beyond
their curriculum. It was designed to spread the awareness about the Emirati
culture amongst the students. It also gives an opportunity to the children to
enjoy the various clubs’ activities such as dance, music, art etc. The other
clubs are the ‘Aman’ club, the ‘Marhaba’ club, the ‘Infinity’ club and the
‘Well-being’ club. These clubs promote Islamic and Emirati culture and also
reflects the values of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who strongly
encouraged the children to pursue education, achieve their goals and contribute
to the UAE’s development journey.
Experience: The activities of the various clubs
during their classes engaged children completely.
Marhaba
Club- Learning Objective: to identify the Arabic conversation commonly used in
the UAE (fil madrasa)
Activity: Students experienced basic
conversation phrases and talked in arabic on the theme fil madrasa and fil
hadeeqa.
Art & Culture Club- Learning
Objective: To develop creative and
imaginative skills so that ideas can be realized and artifacts be produced,
which will be used for Aémal’.
Activity: Happy
Bags: Bags will be made out of brown
paper. They will make innovative design on the paper bag done last week and
paint them using creative art.
Infinity Club- To create awareness about the scientific and technological advancement in
Masdar city.
With the help of some videos the teachers explained about the scientific
innovations in Masdar city. The concept of a pollution free city in today’s
world was explained to the children. Awareness about the wastage of different
sources like electricity and water was introduced. The meaning of the Arabic
word Masdar is explained to the children. The students were asked to draw the
picture of their dream city and explained to other students about the special
feature in their dream city.
Wellbeing Club- Learning Objective: To understand that well - being is the union of H4-a
healthy, a happy heart, a clear head and hands which are ready to serve.
Activity: Week 1The teacher displayed the H4 Pledge on the board. The
students recited the pledge and had a group discussion on what they think the
pledge means.

Week 2- Students discussed the importance of each ‘H’ in our lives.
Week 3- Students took part in a cleanliness drive to clean the school
ground as a part of service to the society. The response they got from others in regard
to their work boosted their self-confidence. It helped to develop a
stronger brain, give them critical-thinking skills, make them more creative,
and provided a daily refuge that they can turn to for stress relief.
Dance Club- Learning Objective: To develop a greater understanding of the UAE
culture. To interpret the basic tradition dance of the UAE culture.
Activity: The students became confident dancers. The students could improvise
meaningful Emirati dance. The children learnt the Arabic dance form called “AL
AYALA”.
Music Club- Learning Objective: To be able to sing about progressive world.
Activity: Students learnt to sing with voice modulation about progressive
world (Dreamer Song).
Intent:
Knowing and learning about the culture
of a place where one resides, helps to connect to the place and its people.
Similarly the Emirati Club educates the students of Credence High School about
the Emirati culture and adapting to its living style.
